Mahikeng: Premier Supra Mahumapelo of Bokone Bophirima Province has received with great shock and sadness news on the sudden passing on of Kgosi Simon Molatlhegi Nawa from Lebotlwane village in the Moretele Local Municipality.
Kgosi Nawa who was also the chairperson of the House of Traditional Leaders in Bojanala Platinum District, died last night, Sunday 16 July.
“Saddening about Kgosi Nawa’s death is that while he was with us this past Friday at the Bokone Bophirima Maize Cup gala dinner and on Saturday during the soccer tournament, there was no indication from him that he was not feeling well. I am truly shocked”, expressed Premier Mahumapelo who maintained that Kgosi Nawa was a committed leader who had the community’s best interest at heart.
Offering his deepest condolences to Kgosi Nawa’s family, the Lebotlwane community which he led for 16 years, and the Provincial House of Traditional Leaders which he served with vigor and dignity, Premier Mahumapelo said he was confident in the leadership of Kgosi Nawa, whose wisdom and steadfastness resulted in many developments benefiting the Lebotlwane community.
“In him the province has lost a great and loyal leader. May his soul rest in peace”, Premier Mahumapelo said.
Kgosi Nawa’s funeral arrangements will be announced in due course.
