POTCHEFSTROOM: The North West Provincial Government is determined to reach each and every ward in its quest to take service delivery to all corners of the province.
Today, the provincial government took its service delivery blitz to ward 4 in Potchefstroom within the Tlokwe Local Municipality.
Dr Kenneth Kaunda District Manager based in the Office of the Premier, Ms Gontse Sekudu had this to say about today’s service delivery outreach:
“These services are being rendered under the auspices of Setsokotsane. As you can see, residents of Ward 4 came in their numbers to access the services.”
Sekudu said she was particularly pleased with the fact that people who came to access services closely reflected the demographics of the country.
“Our objective to bring government services to this ward was achieved because we wanted to reach a wide spectrum of the rainbow nation and that is what we saw here today,” she said.
Government departments and other entities mobilised to offer services included Local Government and Human Settlement, Health, Education and Sports Development, Community Safety and Transport Management, Home Affairs, Social Development, Culture, Arts and Traditional Affairs, Correctional Services and the South African Police Service.
The outreach coincided with the ending of the two-day Executive Council (EXCO) planning lekgotla that was being chaired by Premier Supra Mahumapelo, just a few metres away from the venue of the service delivery outreach.
Premier Mahumapelo is scheduled to brief journalists about the outcome of the lekgotla at a press conference at Cookes Lake inMahikeng tomorrow.
