Mahikeng: Members of the media are invited to the quarterly EXCO Media Briefing which
will mark the official launch of the Provincial Growth and Development Strategy.
In August 2022, the Office of the Premier appointed Panels of Experts, with respective
mandates to advise on Mega Infrastructure projects, and assess the performance and
governance of the State-Owned Entities in the province. Their work culminated in the
consolidation of the North West Provincial Growth and Development Strategy to
reincarnate economic activities in the province, create jobs and fight poverty.
The PGDS serves as a strategic blueprint to guide and coordinate development initiatives
in mineral beneficiation, infrastructure, manufacturing, tourism and agriculture.
Key stakeholders expected to attend the PGDS launch include EXCO members,
Executive Mayors and Mayors, Heads of Departments, Municipal Managers and Chief
Executive Officers of SOEs, members of the three Panels of Experts and the Provincial
House of Traditional and Khoisan Leaders.
