Mahikeng – In a concerted effort to accelerate the delivery of services and intervene where there are blockages, the provincial government will this Wednesday, 18 October, roll-out phase 2 of the Accelerated Service Delivery Programme (ASDP) – Thuntsha Lerole at City of Matlosana Local Municipality in Dr Kenneth Kaunda District Municipality.
This week’s ASDP – Thuntsha Lerole is aligned to the pre-Imbizo activities currently taking place across the Dr Kenneth Kaunda District Municipality, ahead of the District Development Model Presidential Imbizo scheduled for this Friday, 20 October 2023 at Ikageng stadium in Potchefstroom, JB Marks Local Municipality.
Various Ministers and Deputy Ministers are expected to join the Acting Premier Patrick Dumile Nono Maloyi and provincial MECs by participating in this week’s ASDP Thuntsha Lerole activities, which will include clearing of illegal dumping sites, patching of potholes on the Klerksdorp to Jourbeton and Orkney roads, handing over of completed houses in Alabama and Jouberton and handing over of title deeds in Tigane.
Other services which will be provided as part of the Thuntsha Lerole programme include the launching of Labour Activation Programme by the Deputy Minister of department of Employment and Labour, and handing over of agricultural projects to the communities of Matlwang and Wilgeboom villages by the department of Agriculture, Land Reform and Rural Development.
Thuntsha Lerole is currently being rolled-out to local municipalities across the province, where various departments and state-owned entities, working together with the local and district municipalities, are responding to service delivery challenges in a coordinated and integrated approach.
A community feedback session will be held in the afternoon where the Acting Premier Patrick Dumile Nono Maloyi will again be joined by some Deputy Ministers and MECs for different departments to address the community on various service delivery projects and programmes.
