Ladies and gentlemen, it is with great pleasure and gratitude that I receive the handover reports from the former Premier of the North West Province as part of a smooth transition from the 6th to the 7th Administration.
These handover reports coincide with the 30 year celebration of Freedom and Democracy in our country and I note that part of the handover reports include the 30 year review report which I believe makes a comprehensive reflection on the journey we have traversed as a province since 1994.
I wish to congratulate the 6th Administration under the stewardship of former Premier Kaobitsa Maape and Acting Premier Nono Maloyi and Members of the Executive Council for putting together all the handover reports with precision as a demonstration of a government that is responsive to the dictates of the supreme law of our country, the constitution.
These reports will be read and accordingly actioned to ensure continuity in the entire provincial government. It is worth noting that there are service delivery oriented programmes that were initiated in the 6th Administration such as the Accelerated Service Delivery Thuntsha Lerole Programme and it is my firm believe that a programme of this magnitude will need to be sustained in the 7th Administration.
We will also ensure that members of the public are kept informed about decisions that we will take informed by the contents of these reports.
We are mindful of the various service delivery challenges that characterise our province and with the mandate given to us by our people we will leave no stone unturned to improve the situation for the better.
