Mahikeng -The Office of the Premier has noted that the current Superintendent General of Department of Health appeared in Court on Friday for alleged contravention of the Public Finance Management Act.
We have noted that he has been released on bail and his case was postponed to the 31 January 2024 for further investigation.
The Office of the Premier as the appointing authority of Heads of Departments has authorised MEC Sambatha to approve the request of a special leave for Mr Mongale.
The Acting Premier Nono Maloyi has requested a detailed report from the MEC in order to make a full determination on the way forward.
Acting Premier Maloyi will continue to be updated on progress. Heads of Department are central to the functioning of departments and the Office of the Premier will support the Department of Health on how to manage the current situation affecting its Accounting Officer. Ends
